General Business Program PDF Print E-mail

This program utilizes a curriculum called First Step FastTrac®, a modification of the Premier FastTrac® programs which employ experiential “how-to” learning. The First Step Fund modified the original FastTrac training to better fit the needs of its participants. This version of FastTrac (called First Step FastTrac) is not only offered through First Step Fund, but also through other programs across the country. FastTrac has been taught to over 300,000 entrepreneurs and is currently running successfully in all 50 states.

Participants emerge from this 36-hour program with a full feasibility plan for their businesses or business concepts. Taught by an experienced team of facilitators and coaches, First Step FastTrac offers participants a chance to interact with small business professionals. Topics covered include:

  • Is entrepreneurship right for me?
  • Developing and communicating the business concept
  • Product and/or service - features and benefits
  • Analysis of industry competition
  • Analysis of the market
  • Price and profitability
  • Cash flow
  • Plans for further action
